Are you a creative practitioner seeking a unique space for your artistic journey? Riba Rocks Eco-Residency, nestled in the picturesque hills of rural Catalunya, Spain and completely off the grid, welcomes submissions from artists and creative minds of all disciplines. From visual artists to performing artists, writers, musicians, poets and environmentalists, we provide a haven for exploration and artistic expression.
Duration: The residency offers a flexible duration of 1 to 4 weeks, allowing you the time you need to immerse yourself in your creative process.
Application Basis: Our application process is simple yet focused on quality. Creative practitioners send us their cv and examples of work, providing us with insights into their artistic vision. We carefully review each submission to ensure a diverse and inspiring group of residents.
Accommodation: Enjoy a private room with shared lounge and kitchen facilities during your stay at Riba Rocks Eco-Residency, located on an off-grid olive farm, sleeps up to 5 people. The cost is 175 euros per person/per week, made as a donation to the Riba Rocks not-for-profit association. While staying with us, residents are fully self-sufficient, responsible for their travel costs, meals, and transportation. This approach empowers you to tailor your residency experience according to your needs. Our beautiful stone built unique private, self-contained traditional casita provides you with your own private shower room and kitchen, for a donation of 420 euros per week, sleeps up to 2 people.

Our basic facilities connect you with the natural environment, fostering a unique opportunity for your creative journey. Whether you’re working on a new written work, poetry, land-based installations, performance art, sculpture, painting, drawing, filmmaking or have a keen interest in the environment, the residency provides the ideal backdrop.
Riba Rocks Eco-Residency Infrastructure:
Studio/Workshop and Tools: Studio space is available for drawing/painting and other creative activities. Basic woodworking facilities and tools are at your disposal, complemented by a casting/sculpture area. A generator supports heavy tools without straining our solar system.
Connectivity: Stay connected with the world. Riba Rocks Eco-Residency offers unlimited internet access, ensuring you can stay connected for any online research or communications. Additionally, you can access a co-working center in the nearby village of Riba-roja d’Ebre, which boasts high-speed internet for all your uploading needs.
Support and Mentorship: Riba Rocks Eco-Residency is proud to have artist Sarah Misselbrook in residence, offering artists support and mentorship. Additionally, there is a technician on-site to assist with technical aspects of your projects.
