“In 2009, I completed an Art Foundation course at Portsmouth University where I was able to freely experiment with an extensive range of materials and techniques. I continued my artistic education at Portsmouth Uni on a BA Hons Illustration course where I fully engaged my interests in mathematic and scientific themes through more independent illustration projects. My work here focused on ‘Origins’ (the origin of the universe, nature and human life), the Solar System and the 540 million year old creatures from the Cambrian Era that lie at the roots of our evolutionary tree of life.

I graduated in 2012 with a First Class Honours and continue to create artwork as a way to gain a better understanding of where we come from, engage with the natural world and appreciate the wonders of our universe. I use a variety of methods and materials including laser cutting, print making, paper cutting, textiles and book works.” (Daff)

HEADLINE BAND ANNOUNCEMENT >

We are absolutely thrilled to announce RUN TIGER RUN will be headlining this year’s Riba Rocks, Friday 5th September. This is going to be awesome… with over 20,000 plays for their online demo, these guys are going to truly Rock Riba to it’s foundations…

‘Run Tiger Run are unapologetically an indie rock four piece from Liverpool, with a focus on rhythm and texture, embracing sounds of post-rock through to dance pop, Very much the sweethearts and poster boys for Jerk Pop, complete with charismatic as hell front man, and recently described as “much more than haircuts and noise.” A band that will have even the most stubborn of non dancers swaying. Soft guitar melodies which seemlessly lead into foot-stomping crescendo.  With just one demo online “Hummingbird” they have been noticed by just about everyone who is anyone and very much tipped as “the ones to watch” this year. Currently recording with top producer Al Groves at Liverpool’s legendary Motor Museum studios which in recent years as seen such musical icons as Oasis and The Arctic Monkeys pass through their doors .. look out for a whole album full of hits from these guys.’

They’re performing at the ‘Great Escape Festival’ in Brighton and we just cannot wait to see them ‘Rock Riba’ in September.

HEADLINE BAND ANNOUNCEMENT >

We are absolutely thrilled to announce The Horn The Hunt will be headlining this year’s Riba Rocks festival, performing as a full band featuring their heavy synths, desert guitars, bass, drums and powerful vocals.

The Horn The Hunt

Emerging from a winter spent in Greenland, THTH formed out of a burning desire to make challenging pop music. Currently based in Leeds, UK, the duo of Clare Carter and Joseph Osborne are now performing their live sets as a full band and we cannot wait to hear their sounds in the valley. THTH have played with Active Child, Crystal Fighters, Savages, Uh Huh Her, Daedelus, Zola Jesus, Chew Lips, Turin Brakes, Casiotone For The Painfully Alone and Salem.

The Horn The Hunt Starless Single 2014

They released their new single ‘Starless’ on 31st March 2014. ‘Starless’ is taken from the upcoming album ‘Terrafidella’, due for release later in 2014, and showcases a wholly immersive and atmospheric musical landscape that the duo has created. Clare describes the track as being “about giving everything to a cause and sacrificing your own happiness” and cites nature as one of their biggest inspirations.

Cover-Starless-THTH

With its 80s pop and 90s grunge influences, ‘Starless’ opens in a mysterious and chilling way, before we are led in to a more developed, psychedelic and layered sound.
